Our principal’s gone, his chair is vacant, We miss him as the days go by, Our loss was great, he was greatly needed, It’s hard to know the reason why. As days speed on in all theiy swiftness, Give us the faith he had in God. Help us to know the way is safest, He knows the path that must be trod. Ged safely called and he made answer “I’m ready, take me as thine own, And heaven’s igates swing open wider As angels guide him safely home, May we live the life he taught us, And when we reach the crystal sea, May we say with the one who’s gone before us, “Jesus Savior, Pilot Me.” —By Bobbie Boyd. lied 7 y We a ‘ we Hoy OF 1 7 x: ee a aS 7 3 ie ; - 7 a i ei i EM 4 ‘ z 4 ene aes a} 4 av ms oe Ste ae —— oe ee ee ee pian he AIL I « Mr. L. To our faculty dear, we must say good-bye, And with our class-mates we must part with a sigh. There are others, though, to take our place, As we go on with the world to face. With our torches so high, They will shine for passers by, It will light our life each day, And help us on our future way. We did strive this goal to win And help us our lives to begin, So let us keep striving through All the hours And keep on saying “The Torch Is Ours.” —By Helen Pauline Starnes. tr, fi 1 2261. - Ave School Song | High schoo] days are happiest; High scho] friends are truest. Miss Tate always looks so neat, And I'll tell you her pies are certainly a treat, So that’s the reason we think she’s sweet. Miss Shelor is short and sweet, To have her here is certainly a treat, We love her more as days go by ’Cause classes with her just simply fly. I guess we can take Miss Spahr next. For in our books she’s in every text, But let me tell you one more fact, You simply can’t hold a girl like that Who cimes here, it can’t be ’Fess, Why, it’s Miss Smith or I miss my guess. In typing, shorthand, and such We all appreciate her very much. Mr. Bundy is good when it comes to bugs and mice, But as for us We don’t think it’s nice, As coach of cur team he’s done very well And seldom has our team failed. Who’s this coming up the road? Why it’s Coach Harris whom you all know, He’s a jelly good fellow and full of fun, He always sings when his work is done, We wisk. Mr. Hawkins would wear suspenders. instead of a belt, ’Cause many times the pain we’ve felt, But, nevertheless, he’s a pretty good guy Except when he lets that leather belt fly. Mr, Worley is continually giving tests in History, How he thinks up such questions tc us is a mystery, One quis a month is enough. But Mr. Worley is quite tough. Mr. Kinsey, who teaches the “N. Y. A.,” Shows the boys how to rack hay, If it was left up tc these girls around, He’d be the best looking guy in town. Don’t look now, but here comes the head man, He comes in the room our faces to scan, If everything is all right, he goes back out, Leaving us alone and ready to shout But Mr. Moore is a very good boss If across our good conduct we don’t try to cross. He’s here, there, and everywhere, And all time catchine us unaware. But to make it brief, he’s a pretty swell guy. And I’m sure I dcen’t have to tell you why. “ he = FI - “) Se tee eA 7 ar bp a ’ 1é a 7 ad “ a } a ¥ ' = Py s Sve a , 2 ri _ ¢ ‘ I sp ee 5 i _ oa - i 4 ra ae eee fe e : t70k ba = ‘ 2 nas ‘ ‘ : - . a Gey - ia a Ss ¢ as 7 ie ee 7 F pie ae .
