JOHNNY KERRIGAN Center ootball GENE TERRY Guard JIM WORTHINGTON COACH KENNETH GAFRETT ROGER LAZELLE Tavklv run back The Hominy Bucks started their l9b7 football season with eight returning lettermen and a new coach, Jim Worthington, formerly of Tulsa University After two weeks of hard practice, they traveled to Pawhuska for their opening game Due largely to inexperience the Bucks lost 33 to 6 The following Friday they invaded Pawnee where they won 3 to O on Gene Terry's field goal The next week in their first home game, which was with Shidler, the Buck's were victorious 25 to O Then a week later Cleveland invaded and the Tigers handed the Buck' their second defeat of the year 19 to 7 The buck's next game was with Barns dall and since it was our Homecoming Game we won 18 to 6 At the half the cap tain, Kenneth Garrett crowned the football queen, Mary Martha Pryor The next game was at Dewey for the d1St11Ct championship, and after a hard fought game the Bulldoggers edged the Bucks lb to 13 and went on to win the state champ ionship in Class B The following week the Bucks played Oilton here and won 25 to O T en L7 to 18 ur game the Bucks and for second wins and three on Armistice Day they went to Fairfax and beat the Red Devils last game was played at home with Yale and after a very rough won 19 to 13 to tie for first place in North State Conference place in District 12 B and end their season with a record of six losses. The leading scorer for the Bucks this year was Harvey Shelton, a Junior, with twelve touchdowns for 72 points. Gene Terry made the Tulsa World's All State Team at guard and also the District 12 B All-Star Team along with Dick Ash, Kenneth Garrett, Roger LaZelle, and John Kerrigan.
