Second Row: Roy Kilpatrick, Reginald Rader, Bill Reed, Don Hopkins, Mrs. Canada. The Senior play, Bringing up Mother, was presented in April to an ep- preciative audience. The leading role of Sandra Hunt, a pretty but worried young lady, was portrayed by Betty Barton. Sandra'e mother, a woman of for- ty, who is in her second childhood and tries to be youthful, was played by Jane Jones. Janice Shaffer interpreted the role of Teresa Day, a friend of Sandra's who tries to assist Sandra in bringing up her mother.' Don Hop- k:Lns brought chuckles from the audience with his portrayal of a Frenchman. Frances Gaines played the part of the housekeeper. Roy Kilpatrick por- trayed the part of Joseph Day, who tries to help Teresa and Sandra in chang- ing Sandra's mother, but later decides that he also might like to be young. Phyllis Steele in the role of Mrs. Boswell, a rather talkative next-door neighbor, contributed to the comedy element. Regnald Rader played the pert of Sandra's fiance, and Bill Reed the role of Teresa's fiance. When Carolyn Hunt decides to be young again, her daughter, Sandra, is very distressed, since her father is dead and she is a very sensible young girl. Later Sandra turns the tables and starts living the carefree life that her mother has been pursuing. It is then that Mrs. Hunt realizes that she has been a very poor mother. Sandra's being :Ln a car wreck, which proves to be not too serious, makes Hrs. Hunt realize even more her responsibility as a mother, In the conclusion Mrs. Hunt is reconciled to the fact that she is no longer young and frivolous. Sandra consents to marry Donald, and the play has a happy ending.
