1,67 hYiSwlgvriasBf1ll 9, ee mater 'Ute misfleioo Lively music of the California Brass and an abun- dance of mistletoe made the season bright for Home- stead couples as they frolicked at the Christmas Ball. Festive red and white streamers and helium balloons adorned the walls and ceiling of the gym as the tradi- tional Christmas tree regally occupied its place of honor in the center of the dance floor. The cheerful atmosphere at the season was reflected in the student center, where the couples could eat, converse with Santa, have their picture taken, and recuperate from their energetic dancing. Wreaths of mistletoe and Christmas decorations made the center- pieces for the refreshment table, and a hearth lent a cozy air to the picture scene. The coronation of the Queen LaMarylis Harris by last year's Queen, Miss Janet Rust, highlighted the l967 Christmas Ball. Santa Claus presented the tearful Queen with a dozen red roses, and announced the four lovely prin- cesses, Miss Rita Elory. Miss Linda Klocke, Miss Sue Sechrist, and Miss Julie Shepherd. Each princess re- ceived a bouquet of white sweetheart roses. Activities Commissioners Jennifer Hemmes and Chuck Loring were responsible for the success of the Christmas Ball. 0 Miss Jennifer Hemmes 2 nn--' The Coronation

Art Club Art Club Members Dip tank on Round-Up Day. white section at football and basketball games, and colorful signs displayed at the rallies were only a few of the activities which enlisted the help of Pep Club members this year. To insure a hard working group, fall club presidents Mary Droney and Sandi Gobets devised a point system whereby students interested in holding a spirit office had to acquire at least two hundred points, gained by attending games, wearing white, and painting signs. This point system proved successful when spring club presidents Sue Maynard and Sue Wilson enforced the new point system during try-outs and received the cooperation of many spirited members. Homestead's Art Club this year was composed of those who either have an interest or an ability in arts and crafts. Many activities throughout the year kept the members busy. Headed by Toni Masterson, Pres- ident, Linda Del Rosario, Vice President, Robert Booth, Treasurer, and Deb DeMarcay, Secretary, the Art Club hosted a booth at the Round-Up and a Poster Sale last fall. They also held an Art Sale in November, the proceeds going to the Art Department to buy equipment. During the spring, they all got together for an excursion to San Francisco and Oakland to visit various art institutes. Then to wrap up a most pros- perous and outstanding year, they conducted another Art Sale. X1 f .afslir K T ln' 9 5, Qvrekllbll 1 52 5 ws it if sf .
