Anyone could submit his work, whether they be school assignments or independent creative writing. The magazine staff made the final judgment of material to be published. GERMAN CLUB The German Club has greatly helped me to understand the German people, exclaimed John Bean, the president of German Club, He emphasized that the club is open to all people interested in the German culture and that a knowledge of the language is not necessary for membership in the organization. An Octoberfest and a German break- fast, highlighted the fall portion of the year, and a trip to San Francisco added excitement to the spring semester activities. B , I X l zilb .f ,f , 5' L TIN CLUB One of the most active clubs on campus, the Latin Club, began this year with their annual Latin Banquet, organized by their president, Peggy Ehmann. The first and second year Latin students served as slaves, the third year students as Patricians, and the fourth year students reigned as gods. ln keeping with the Roman theme, all wore togas. Several members attended the annual Latin Convention meeting during Easter Vacation, a state-wide meeting of proficient and interested Latin students in which all have a chance to practice the language and become familiar with the cus- toms of Ancient Rome.

Av-Tv The Av-Tv club, composed of stu- dents interested in Audio-Visual and Television, provided operating per- sonnel for the T.V. studio and gen- erally acquainted members with communication media. Members set up public address systems for various student body programs and operated projectors, recorders, etc. in the classrooms. Other pro- jects included running a booth at the annual Round-Up, operating a concession at football games, and visiting commercial television sta- tions. Don Herlth, Peggy DeMouthe, Steve Nelson. 4, , Z vigil Scribes Under the direction of their ad- visor, Mr. Ferentinos, the Scribes, Homestead's creative writing club, provided the means for im- provement of writing skills. Meeting bi-weekly in member's homes, the Scribes read aloud their original stories, poems, and essays after which the entire group offered constructive criti- cism. A great deal of entertain- ment as well as rewarding ex- perience highlighted a valuable learning year for Homestead's aspiring writers. Teresa Gisske: President
