TLIDIE The Social Studies department used every available reference to create a meaningful study of his- tory and political thought for Homestead students. Based on the success of last year's pro- gram, students were encouraged to look for reasons behind events. A variety of sources were the basis for a broader outlook on specific problems. The American Civilization class, in its second year, initiated a new approach to the study of economics. More than half of the department spent considerable time devel- oping a new Social Studies curric- ulum. What was done here may become a pattern for other schools in the district and the state. 2 Mr. Mullhair American Civ. I K Mr. Hemphill U.S. Government, World History Mr. Langford American Civ.
