■IH k ' y it % 7 f f mm 3 , PRINCIPAL MR. THOMAS E. BAINES Principal ' s Message During the current school year the administration and faculty have worked diligently to provide a program of work to challenge the natural abilities of all the students. New courses have been added and the content in others has been improved to provide encourage- ment and stimulation to those who seek enrichment in areas of special interest. Many students have availed themselves of the opportunities afforded at Ferguson High School and they will find when they transfer to other schools or graduate and go to college that very little adjustment is required to meet the demands of their new situations. Those who graduate from high school and take their places in the business world will quickly realize the value of worthwhile preparation. The administration and faculty will continue to strive toward raising the standards of our school and improving the educational oppor- tunities of the youth of this community. We are looking forward to our first commencement. To some this program will mean graduation; to many others it will mean a goal toward which an educational program leads. We heartily congratulate you, seniors, and wish for you the best in health, happiness and prosperity. Undergraduates, we challenge you to intensify your desire for a sound educa- tional background so that you may compete successfully in our demanding world. We hope that the years spent in this school have helped to bring each of you to the realization that education is a never ending part of life. Smooth sailing and full steam ahead, has been said to many a mariner as he embarked on a new journey. This ancient blessing expresses the sentiment I feel as you leave the halls of Ferguson High School to continue your journey through life. You will face challenges unique to the youth of all generations but if you will remember and uphold the ideals and principles for which the school stands you will be guided and prepared to meet those chal- lenges. The manner in which you master the challenges will provide you with opportunities to honor your school and make a worthy contribution to the improvement of our world.
