Senior Class Histor On September 3, 1950 the Class of '55 launched mto rts frrst year of Semor I-hgh. The year began with the tradrtxonal Freshman mtrtratron, conszstmg of a day of homage to the Sophomore class, com peutrve games between the two classes on the football field, and the evemng festivztres, the snake dance through town and endmg with the actual mrnauon rn the study hall We were revived afterwards w1t.h refreshments furmshed by the Sophomores. Now, officraly Semor I-hgh students, our thoughts were turned to studres and class projects The class projects brought us money toward the Semor Tnp, taught us to take responsrbrlrty and gave us the opportumty of worlung together That year the Student Council sponsored a new rdea of a school talent assembly g1ven by each class The project was recerved wrth shyness at first but the class put its efform together to present a humorous concepnon of a radro broadcast, Progressing to the Sophomore Class we gamed new responsrbrhtles, We passed our Freshman trtle on to a new class and lmnated them mto their new statron. For an all school actrvrty, we departed a httle from tradrtron and sponsored a skatrng party rnstead of the usual Sophomore dance We went on wrth our projects for the Semor tnp by havmg a scrap dnve and other activmes, We began our thrrd year of hrgh school by choosrng and ordenng class rings. In December we presented our junior Play, Belles on Therr Toes. It was a success, but more than that we enjoyed gettmg rt ready and presentrng it to the puhlzc In the fall we sponsored Twrrp Season and clrmaxed rt with the Sadxe Hawlnns Dance We advertised As jumors we gave the tradxtronal banquet and prom for the Semors. We had fun carryrng out the nantlcal theme and pamtmg wierd forms of Manne lrfe for Neptunes Ballroom, Our mothers gave us much assltance rn preparing and serving the banquet, Before we knew rt three years had flown by and we were the Semor Class of '55 School started rn a whirl of projects We added to the frmds rn our treasmy by a magazme sale, followed by a Chrrstmas card and wrap p1ng paper sale Concessrons at football games and basketball games helped. At class meetmgs we selected cadet blue gowns for graduation, and chose the class colors, flower, and motto Cold weather soon came and wlth rt football, produclng another undefeated season for the Trojans. The Semors shared 1n the school pnde over thxs record, as ten Semor boys played on the team. All too soon football season was drawrng to an end as we made preparatxons for Homecommg. Floats paraded the football freld at half trme and we sponsored a Homecomrng dance Somethmg new was added dunng the wmter We could now turn the radro to the Albxon statnon on Sunday mormng and hear the Senrors representrng Homer I-hgh ln May we were thnlled to fmd ourselves rn the brg cxty of New York. We retmmned rn ume for all the graduation festrvrtres The class of '55 wishes to express rts smcere gratxtude to the faculty, and to Mr Edgerton, Mr Mrller, and Mr I-hghlund for theu help and guidance through our four years of hrgh school We ex tend our thanks to Mrs. I-hghlund for her directron of our junior and Semor plays, and to our sponsors Mrs. Whrtney and Mr Draime Our arm now wrll be to apply the educatron we have acqmred and to prove ourselves worthy of the d1plomas we have recerved Shrrley Gurlford and Barbara Hrckerson Complrments from the home of good hams and bacon HOMER LOCKER PLANT the dance by making our float at the Homecoming game feature a hill-billy scene,
