E E The boys were not the only ones to participate in sports. During the Q lg fall and spring, the girls played kittenball. In the winter basketball was 3 E played. A number of the girls played kittenball. Janet Fox and Carolyn Nelson 5 ig were among those going to Hubbard for a game. Janet Fox, Margie VanCleave 2 E Joann Barnett, Darlene Renz, Lillian Jacobsen, and Carolyn Nelson played basket- 2 5 ball in the inter-class tournaments. 'Our class took first place. The boys re- 2 is ceived last place in their tournament. 2 QE There were also a number of social activities that we sponsored. On 5 , December 22, we gave the high school a Christmas party. In May the freshmen E if girls sponsored a tea for the Senior girls and high school girls' mothers. Last, E Q but not leash was the picnic for the freshman class, and after this it was only 3 :E a few weeks until our freshman year was over. Q ig We began our sophomore year with nineteen members in our class. Our 5 4 sponsor for this year was Mr. Rembold. Class officers were elected as follows: 5 E- Russell Morgan, president, Marjorie Stockton, vice president, William Baugous, E 13 secretary-treasurer, and Nita Bergeon, news reporter. 3 s After Kangaroo Court, we sponsored our only party of the year. 3 5 One of the cheerleaders, Janet Fox, was selected from the sophomore 2 F class. ? F Prominent in athletics for the year were: William Baugous, Lynn E J Jensen, Jim Lauritsen, Jim Sorensen, Russell Morgan, and Clair Jensen in foot- 5 L vall, and Lynn Jensen, Russell Morgan, Jim Lauritsen, Jim Sorensen, William S L Baugous and Clair Jensen in basketball. 3 JUNIOR cLAss 2 My f In the year of 1946, eighteen new MBMDBPS entered Homer High School. Q 2 After getting acquainted with each other and the school, we held our class elec- , E tion under the sponsorship of Mr. Rembold. Officers elected for that year were: J E Nolan Georgesen, president, Marlene Case, vice president, Peggy Washburn, sec- 2 E retary-treasurer. 2 5 Soon after school started, we went through the usual initiation crazy 2 E antics. E 3 In our sophomore year, fifteen of our old classmates returned for 3 S another year- of study and good times at Homer High. Once more we had Mr. 9 Q Rembold as our sponsor.
