There were nine- 5 teen members in our class, nine boys and ten girls. Miss Deirup was our class 2 sponsor. S Soon after beginning school, we had our class election. Mary Rasmus- 9 sen was elected president, Darrell Young, vice president, Doris Nelsen, eecre- S tary-treasurer, and Jack Bartels, sports writer. Joellen Bergeon was elected as 5 one of our cheerleaders. Our class was initiated the week of September 27 to October 1, by the 5 Juniors and Seniors, which made us official members of high school. 3 Most of the boys participated in football and basketball, and the 5 girls enjoyed playing kittenball and basketball. Q Our class sponsored the Christmas party held December 9. We exchanged 2 gifts and had a wonderful time. 3 We girls had a tea for the high school students' mothers and the Sen- 5 ior girls. 2 we enjoyed our first year of high school immensely and were very sorry E to .ee it come to a close. 2 sopnomonr. CLASS . of llll As Freshmen we entered Homer High School with high hearts and quaking Q knees. We started with twenty-one members in the class. We had Miss Deirup as E our sponsor and started the year with election of officers. Clair Jensen was 3 elected p esidentg Janet Fox, vice presidentg Carolyn Nelson, secretary: and 2 Nita Bergeon, treasurer. 5 Initiation was held the fifth week of school. During this week we had g to undergo the zany stunts of the Juniors and Seniors. 3 By this time football was well under'way. The boys of our class par- E ticipating were: William Baugous, Lynn Jensen, Jim Lauritsen, Jim Sorensen, 2 Russell Morgan and Larry Longwell. Q The basketball season followed football season, and Lynn Jensen, 3 Russell Morgan, Jim Sorensen, Jim Lauritsen, Clair Jensen and Larry Longwell S took part in basketball.
