Student Council I 1 Standing: Dick Smith, Linda Danner, James Wienke, Chuck Krukewitt, Tommy Mast. Seated: Herbie Lacey, Nancy Wickiser, Mike Stayton, Dick Beard, Ted Dutton, Donald Vern Robertson, and Mr. Busenhart. This year our Council consisted of two girls and eleven boys. Last year the students chose Ted Dutton as President. At our first meeting Donald Vern Robertson was chosen Vice-President, Tommy Mast was chosen Treasurer and Nancy Wickiser was chosen Secretary. The Council sponsored an All-School Party, which was combined with the initiation of the freshmen. During the party we danced, played games and, of course, ate. At every home game you always saw a big delicious-looking cake that was being raffled off. This was our Council's main way of making money. During the year they sold pennants, ball point pens, and sweat shirts. . In the fall, the Council had a Student Council Carnival. They had a lot of fun putting this on. Nine members of the Council attended the District Convention at Bloomington in the fall. Two were chosen to attend the State Convention in Chicago on April 26. The Council visited Jamaica one day to learn about their school. Dick Beard has been chosen President for next year. Dick and Ted are going to attend the State Convention at Chicago. The 1956-1957 Student Council enjoyed working for and with the students of Homer High School. Kenney's Rexall Drugs Homer Enterprise Parker Shell Service 7 Courson’s Hardware
