Douglas. The clock ran out on Father Time and fifty-four had to move over for the New Year. Time again for a few seniors in band to think of leaving band and relive the years they have spent in band, what fun they had and how much they learned. , Seriously, this year in band has been worth while to all the band members. First of all because we are fortunate enough to have a very talented and interested instructor. We were lucky to have Mr. Hunt back with us again this year, When listening to the band, you yourselves can tell it has improved, be- cause he knows his music and how it should be played. The band may be small in number, but they can always put out some good music which can compare with other bands around us. We also know that the band helps to improve the school spirit at all of the ballgames and that is what helps to make a good school. ln November we furnished the music before both performances of the Junior Class Play. This consisted of several marches and semi-classical numbers. On the evening of January 17, we entertained at the regular P.T.A. meeting. On February IO and II, our band along with the other bands in the Snake River Valley participated in a clinic in Ontario, Oregon. After two days of practicing together, a concert was given for the public on the last night. As we all know, one must have some pleasure along with their work. On January 18, our band took a half day off and went to Caldwell to listen to the practices of Caldwe1l's band and orchestra. This proved to be very interesting and helpful. There were also several parties during the year at which everyone had a grand time. Our band has accomplished much this year. Congratulations to all band members and to Mr. Hunt, our able instructor. Our desire is to keep on climbing upward to a larger and better band for our school. Elsie Iesenko
