WATTERSON astic advancement! everything Trinity. which he has done so much to enkindle THE REVEREND FATHER WILLIAM DUNN FATHER DUNN came to us just before the beginning of our Senior year. He was a quiet, resourceful priest who always seemed to stay in the background. Later, when we all got to know him, we realized just what a good friend he could be. Father Dunn is always with the players of the different sports and his very presence has always given them a greater will to go out and do their best. On leaving the portals of Trinity, we will always be able to look back and remember what a wonderful friend and inspiration he has been to all of us. UR PRIESTS JUST as Monsignor has been such a definite part of Trinity for so many years, he has been a definite part of us for four years Rarely indeed, are we privileged to witness such a daily exhibition of priestly character wholehearted interest, and driving vitality aimed at one goal-our spiritual and schol lt is impossible for anyone outside of Trinity to appreciate Monsignor Watterson fully . . . Only we can understand the SPIRIT behind: those Friday instructions, the pithy quips on Report-Card Day, his cooperative in terest in, and enthusiastic support of sports and Revcille, the Library and the dances and We, who have known him as Pastor Dean, Adviser, and Friend are grateful very grateful for the experience. It is difficult to put our appreciation, our gratitude and our affection for Monsignor into words . . . instead we can do what he would certainly like better -promise to keep always the Trinity Spirit ACUL RT REV MSGR H J WATTERSON Dean of Both Schools SISTER M GENOVEFFA Prlnclpal SISTER REGINA CORDIS RSIIQION Scnence Mathematncs SISTERM SYMPHROSA Relvglon English History SISTER JOSEPH EUCHARIA Relxgron Commercial Subjects SISTER MARIA JOSEPHINE Relrgnon Latun Mathemafncs Relrguon Spanish Buology SISTER M ALTHEA Relugnon Mathematics Englush SISTER MARION JOSEPH Reluguon Englush Latnn MR WILLIAMJ FORD P A D Athletnc Director Phys MISS IRENE D CASEY Drarnatucs MR ANTHONYJ RLJSTAKO Muslc 9 :cal Traunlng SISTER MARIA LITERARY STAFF BUSINESS STAFF Edltor In Chief PATRICIA SHEEHAN Asslstant Editors CAROL KINGSBURY ROBERT SHERIDAN Business Managers PATRICIA DOWLING GREGORY SCHILLING Luterary Editors JEANNE MURRAY MARJORIE HOGAN Sports Edntors ROSEMARIE JORDAN JOHN PERRETTI FRED CHEMIDLIN Art Edntors HELENE GLASS ANTHONY ROSSI ACSIYIHES Editors ELEANOR DeANDREA JAMES OCONNOR Clrculatlon Managers BARBARA N EAF I E WALTER JEFFREY Photography CHARLOTTE MARION JOSEPH TADDEO EDWIN TEFFT Typusts BERNADETTE BURKE KATHERINE LAURENT IRENE AUSTIN MARY GRAY JOAN AIMONE BARBARA NEAFIE RINITAS STAFE L- ENIORS 11 IRENE DOROTHY AUSTIN ramatlcs I 3 4 Intramurals Llbrary Revezlle4 Dottre has the dlstnnctlon of belng class smger She can sung anything from a Spanish hymn to the number one ballad on the Hut Parade And those who have wltnessed at say that she has an envlable way wlth a typewrnter In class she IS quiet attentive and always In need of Ink After two flfty P M she wlll be only too glad to tell you anythmg you want to know about pastry muslc or class rings After graduatlon day w wish two things for you Dottie a posltlon that wlll full all your requlrements and a brand new bottle of Ink JOAN MARIE AIMONE Dramatscs I 4 Intramurals I 2 3 4 Rcvrzllc 4 Glee Club 3 4 Llbrary 3 Yearbook 4 Mlsslon Club 4 Joan IS a four year commuter from her home town Plainfield to the halls of Trrnlty I-llgh Dur :ng these four years her easy dnsposltlon and whole hearted cooperatlon have won her many fruends Although she IS a regular member of the cheermg section for all of Trlnlty s sports there IS a soft spot an her heart for basketball even If she ss not teasing the basket herself When she leaves us Joan plans to enter St Peters School of Nurslng The Central Raulroad will mass you Joan an so wnll we K, 1 2 , , , 1 ' 1 , 1 : 5 I I ' T I - s . , I I J, . ASE TRlNlTY'S '47 diamonders had a successful season, even though we were not able to play the planned schedule be- cause of inclement weather and an early school closing. At a pre-season meeting, George Keenley was elected captain by the lettermen. Skip, along with our coaches, Mr. Keppler and Mr. Quinn, piloted our team through its third season since the renewal ot the sport here at Trinity, A few highlight games were: Our nipping Our Lady of the Valley 5-4 with a big four run 5th inning . . . our bowing at the hands of Thomas Edison 8-l with their twirler Lou Knoreke fanning 20 . . . the defeat of Our Lady ofthe Valley in the return game by a score of 5-3 . . . Dick Ptaft's one hit shut-out over St. Joseph's, West New York . . . Bob Evan's two hit shut-out over Immaculate Con- ception in which he struck out l4. The lertermen playing their last season in '47 were Skip Keenley, Tommy Comune, Johnny Belson, Don Jordan, John Ryan, Dave Mullin, Dick Sheridan, Pete Stavish, Red Mc- Neill. Coach CASEY ARMONY HALL DURING the breathless minutes that followed the rising of the curtain on each performance, all the fears of weeks of practice were dispelled as an appreciative audience encour- aged the actors to do their best. Harmony Hall was a defi- nite success. We worked hard to keep McTavish happy, Rosalie from rejecting too many suitors, and Doolittle from getting too mixed up-but in the end, everyone, including the audience, seemed perfectly happy. The underclassmen, specialties between the acts, the novelty numbers which displayed some very different Trinity talent, and, of course, the dance following the last perform- ance added up to a perfect time. lt is no exaggeration to say that we, the Seniors of '48 will never forget HARMONY HALL! 74 E .5 nm wiki , '5Af,,5, 'MW 1 mfs w 1-lik., nw' f.ai'UEgIl 1 1'. f .. .' - A gff' E. 5 fx W .. Introduced this year at Trinity, the organization was eagerly welcomed by the students it concerned-those who had contributed in some way toward Rczieille or Trinitas, and who fulfilled the other necessary qualifications. A solemn initiation was held, and the society was officially inaugurated in Trinity. Officers for i948 are: President, Nancy McCue, Secretary, Mary Minogue, Treasurer, Carol Kingsbury. Seated: J. Trial-li-Sci's biweekly meetings are conducted in the laboratory by President Robert Sheridan. Composed of members of the Senior and Junior science classes, the function of the club is to perform experiments and explore the fields of science. An interesting lecture by Dr. Ralph Tefft was a highlighted event in the science club activities. We, the Seniors, hope that in future years the Tri-Hi-Sci will attain great heights in science and that it will prove as inter- esting tothe incoming classes as it did to us. President . . . Within a few weeks, members of every class had trod a path to the commercial room to become missionaries , Trinity's Mission Club has a very worthy purposei its members have pledged themselves to adopt a missionary and offer their Holy Communion for the furtherance of his work. They cut and sort cancelled stamps and old greeting cards to secure funds for the missions. Now they are proudly dis- playing pictures of the Chinese babies they have adopted. Although it is the newest of Trinity's clubs, it has met with enthusiasm and true Catholic generosity from the students.
