•v S r A Contributors Who Help Enlighten the Way The goal of becoming an educated man is accomplished through the en- lightened way of knowledge and faith. The students and faculty are well aware of the significance of the spiritual and material support given by Father Lisewski, pastor of Holy Trinity, Father George, spiritual di- rector of the student body, and Father Buckley, chaplain to the Brothers. It is impossible to measure on a tangible scale the results that will be effected through their contri- butions and good will. REV. STANISLAUS LISEWSKI, C.S.C. Pastor of Holy Trinity REV. GEORGE SZYMANOWSKI, C.S.C. Spiritual director and director of maintenance REV. JAMES BUCKLEY, C.S.C. Brothers ' chaplain Page H

A Golden Jubilee When classes resumed in September, as we students were absorbed in adjusting ourselves to the new school year ' s schedule, the faculty, along with the other members of the Congregation of Holy Cross, were commemorating a Golden Jubilee. Fifty years ago Brother Andre, C.S.C., a Brother of Holy Cross, saw the beginnings of his ambition to build a tremendous tabernacle in honor of St. Joseph, the patron saint of the Brothers. Through his deep-grounded faith and hope, he saw the realization of much of his dreams before his death in 1937. Throngs of hopeful souls from this continent journeyed to Canada to seek restored health and strengthened faith through the intercession of Brother Andre, the miracle man of Montreal whose cause for canonization is being introduced in Rome. Today, the magnificent basilica, Saint Joseph ' s Oratory on Mount Royal, towers over the city of Montreal, Canada, where countless of pilgrims con tinue to go yearly to seek strength and courage and hope. This basilica, conducted by the Fathers of Holy Cross, is on the way to becoming one of the largest churches in the Christian world. We join the faculty in commemorating this historic event. St. Joseph ' s Oratory is truly one of the rays of light for a darkened world. Page 15
