Out of the Darkness . . . Into the Dawn As dusk envelops each hamlet and city scattered across the face of the globe and the piercing lights begin their vigil through the silent watches of the approaching night, we are forcibly reminded of the dark ages recurring again and again in man ' s continuous story of civilization. The narrative of his journey through life has been dark- ened with ignorance, prejudice, injustice, and crime. Through this blackness of malignant evils corroding society, comes the only light, that of knowledge strengthened by faith, which will assuredly illuminate the way to peace and restore the dignity of man everywhere. With the acquisi- tion of knowledge based on prin- ciples of Eternal Truth and the possession of an unwavering faith as the cornerstone of all our en- deavors in life, ignorance, preju- dice, sin, and crime take their ignoble places in the darkened past with the smoldering ruins of con- flict and war. For the source of this infallible light, we must look beyond the planets and stars to Him Who is the Cause of all truth. This is the light that will endure when man-made lights flicker their last and the suns are dead and dark. This is the light that will lead us out of the darkness into the dawn of a better world.
