If these words of Henry Adams can be applied to all teachers, how much more so to religious teachers. With this thought in mind, we pen these words of dedication to three such teachers and guides of youth. Brother Maximus, C.S.C., who has served as principal for two terms, has been an active leader in our school ever since its beginning at the turn of the century. Brother Victor, C.S.C., who has served one term as prin- cipal, has also been on the faculty since the school was founded and continues with his diligent service to boys. Brother Xavier, C.S.C. has been here at Holy Trinity for the greater part of his teaching career, his time being interrupted for a few years when he taught elsewhere. In gratitude for their long, devoted services as leaders and pioneers in Education, we bestow this token of recogni- tion. Their infiuence goes on-in the molding of tomorrow's generations.

Foreword . . . This year, 1954, marks the twenty-fifth year of the existence of our school in the present building. From its humble beginning to the present day, it has helped to develop in youth a truly intellectual and Christian character. In 1893, the Brothers of Holy Cross, at the invitation of Father Sztuczko, C.S.C., pastor of Holy Trinity Parish, arrived in Chicago and were assigned to teach in the grade school. The first high school classes were taught seventeen years later in a converted printing shop on Noble Street with Brother Peter Hosinski, C.S.C. as its first principal. In 1912, the Kosciuszko Public School on Division and Cleaver Streets became the next step in the planning of a complete high school for boys. The Brothers taught here for fifteen years. This school was then torn down and replaced by the present modern edifice. Blessed by George Cardinal Mundelein the new school was opened in 1928. The future will present many challenges to us. If we meet these with the same ideals and unselfish effort as in the past, our school will continue to witness the growth it has shown in the years now past.
