THE TRINITAHIAN 1939 YEAR BOCK STAFF The school library, staff headquarters for the Trinitarian, has been a scene of varied and vigorous activity since the mid-year. All phases of publication including financing, literary, photography, compositions were discussed com- pletely and intelligently. The staff is grateful for the kind assistance given by Sister Agnes Cyril and Mr. William Henry. STUDENT COUNCIL This year the Student Council was better organized than ever before. The first and most important duty of its members was to draw up a constitu- tion that would cover everything that was needed for a successful governing of the student body. After a great deal of preparation an excellent constitu- tion was presented to the School Body and was accepted. The next duty of the Student Body was to elect its officers. This was done by having the Student Council nominate the candidates who were to run for office. When this was done, there followed much strong campaigning. Then came the big day for all students to vote for the candidates whom they con- sidered capable of leading the Student Body. This was a very impressive event. All the students assembled in the auditorium and each in turn cast his ballot. The organization accomplished excellent work in government participation. TRIfHI NEWS The need for a student journal was recognized by a progressive-minded student body early in 1939 and this need crystallized in the form of a fort- nightly publication, the TRI-HI NEWS. About 25 pencil-wielding students stepped forward and proceeded to amaze and amuse the student body by turning out the first successful paper at Trinity. To date there have been eight issues and each has been better than the one before it. The TRI-HI NEWS has brought into the open heretofore hidden Writing ability and suggested to the staff members the possibilities of the journalistic profession. At times when the outlook seemed most gloomy, the firm guidance of Mr. Sehulster urged us on to greater heights. , It is the sincere hope of the staff that this publication, the result of their untiring efforts, will never topple, but will remain as one of the worthiest in- stitutions at Holy Trinity High School. STUDENT COURT These distinguished gentlemen are the Iudges of the Student Court. Each class has a representative on the bench. Cases are tried intelligently and with fairness. The student tribunal has earned the respect of the entire school. Page Thirty seven
