THE THIN I TARIAN 1939 THEIR CLAIM TO FAME The Iuniors claim to fame is of long standing. They were engaged in numerous activities even the school orchestra is comprised of Iuniors. The members of this class have also played a prominent part in athletics. They organized the first softball team. Iames Nelson had the highest score on the boy's basketball team and Adelaide Garlinger is captain of the gir1's basket- ball team. The scholastic record of the luniors is considered above the usual. Iohn Powers won second prize in the Latin contest and Irene Roth submitted an Alma Mater which was accepted by the entire student body. Iuniors, bright prospects for your Senior year! SOPHCMORES The Sophomore's claim to fame seems to lie mainly in the athletic field. This class defeated the Freshmen in football and baseball. They have five members on the baseball team. Frank Saul and Frank Pizza are pitchers on the baseball team. The girls of the Sophomore class defeated the girls of the Freshmen class in a softball game. There are two sophomore classes which meet once a week during home room period for class meetings. I believe these meetings are very interesting. FRESHMEN The Freshmen claim to fame covers various fields. First, the scholastic field since Alice Brown and Betty Lester entered a Latin contest at St. Aloysius' Academy, Iersey City. Athletics also seem to be a great part of their life. The girl's have a baseball team and Iohn Hordyck catches for the boy's team. The Freshmen A class is the only class to have a hundred per cent at- tendance at First Friday Communion. They also were the first to pay their propagation of the Faith Dues. This class also goes in for a bit of acting for they presented a play in home room period, Mary Comes Home From College. Page Thirty three
