TRACK SCOREBOARD Meet We finished Rebel Relays 6th Menard Invitational 3rd lena Relays 5th Winnfield Relays 2nd Cenla Rally 3rd District Meet 5th Carl leansonne, the backbone of the Menard Track Team, was known throughout the district as perhaps the strongest mile and two mile runner around. Coach Charles MacArthur said that he believes that Carl's spirit, pride, and determination placed him at the top of the district, in the mile and two mile. Carl went on to the regional meet in Natchitoches where he placed second with a 4:30 mile and a 10:19 two mile. Carl then placed 5th in the mile and 6th in the two mile at the state meet in Baton Rouge. Other members of the track squad were Wayne Mathews, lohn Voltz, Cireg Gravel and Barry Hilton. The Relay team, lohn Voltz, 440 yd. dash, Paris Murchison, 880 yd. dash, David Walker, 330 yd. intermediate hurdles, Dan Dekeyser, high hurdles, and Saint Provosty and Rusty Presson helping out with the mile relay. At the field events there were several new faces. Throwing the discus were Wayne Carlino and Paul Hebert, David Walker and Wayne Mathews in the triple and long jump and Quentin Dick and Lee Simmons who threw the javelin. 7
