. . and the seasons change. Although outsized by each district opponent, the Menard Eagles' Basketball team held their own in this past season. The Eagle team had to face many opponents. Among those were inju- ries, grades, and the pains of rebuilding. For the men from Menard it was not an easy season. After the loss of starting guard Tabb Neblett in the early season, things looked dismal. But the basketball players ptft aside their own problems and set out to defeat their district rivals. Dee Bubbaf' Methvin led the team in two depart- ments. He ended his junior year with 476 points and 425 rebounds. As a result of his hard work, he was named to the second team all-district team. Ned Voelker, our senior guard, rounded out the season with 147 points, but led the team in assists with a total of 64. Wayne Mathews, another junior, scored 323 points and pulled down 118 rebounds. Head Coach, jerry Lave- sphere, and assistant Don Boniol expect to have a strong group of returnees next year. Among these are letterman Tabb Neblett, Wayne Mathews, Dee Methvin, Phillip Parr, David Dufour, and Chris Randall. Also expected to contribute heavily to next year's success are jamie Colvin, Stephen Reed, and Tim Walker. These boys played most of the season with the junior Varsity and saw limited varsity action. All in all, it looks like a bright future for the Eagles next year. fi 1 MJ
