l E Iilli MEMURIE With diplomas in hand, we walk down the aisle of memories. Each step we take recalls to us the best years of our lives, the year we spent at H. R. H. It was here that we, the class of 51 , began our climb up the ladder to our high school career. We were no different than the classes which had preceded us, and we, too, began as green freshmen, the seniors' wish was our command. This was not for long however, and we were soon recognized as capable Sodalists when we were accepted in the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Proud we were the day that our classmate janet Rodgers won recognition in a city essay contest. A class basketball team, the Pepperettes, was organized and was supported by faithful cheer leaders and grandstand rooters. Among the Queen's Court at the annual Mother-Daughter Tea, were our princesses Sylvia Campagna and Lorraine Vallela. The frosh-soph picnic at Shady Beach ended our first year. It was September again, and we were now on the other side of the hall in room 212. It was the scene of many activities, for it was this year that the Polka Dot Band made its debut at the Father-Daughter Banquet. It seems as though we were very usportyi' that year, too, for we won the Sportsmanship Pennant. Many of the girls now belonged to the select singing groups of the Maryam and the Dominican Choir. Sally Fox and Donna Lewis were chosen Princesses for the year. Again we enjoyed our soph-frosh picnic at Shady Beach. We really must have liked that beach! None of us will ever forget when we began our junior year, for now we were Upperclassmen-which had been anticipated for a long time. Dissecting frogs in biology, making a speed test in typing, and substituting characters for words in shorthand, were all new and thrilling experiences. We gave some of the peppiest and snappiest assemblies that year, under the leadership of our Social Chairman, Donna Pedersen. That year was the first year a Loyalty Cup was given to the class which displayed the most enthusiasm and spirit in school activities, and we, the juniors, were the first winners. The junior Talent Show and Mixer was sponsored to raise funds for our first Prom which was held at the Seattle Golf and Country Club. We treated the seniors to the annual picnic at Lake Wilderness, and even though it did rain, we had a wonderful time. We can all too clearly remember our senior year, for those last nine months went by like a flash. Along with Kathy Strub, Lorraine Vallela, and Margaret Tracey, Marilyn Sollick's name went down on the pages of our class history as our fourth and last class president. Again, we led an eventful year of class parties and activities. We received our senior pins and rings at the annual Sodality Breakfast on October 19. As part of our economics class, we made a trip to Olympia and toured the State Capitol. The remaining months whizzed by with such events as the F ather-Daughter Banquet, Faculty Day, Senior White Day, Mother- Daughter Tea, Baccalaureate Sunday, junior-Senior Treat, and our first Dinner Promv at the Rainier Golf and Country Club, over which Margaret Tracey reigned as Queen. Now it is Graduation night and our Commencement is over and never again will we walk as students through the halls of Holy Rosary High, but we will always cherish our inspiring memories, no matter where the road of life may lead us.
