Cardinal Mooney had served the Dio- cese of Detroit long and faithfully. It was the newly elected Pope john XXIII who named Cardinal Mooney's successor. Bishop John F. Dearden of Pittsburgh was enthmned as Archbishop of Detroit on January 29. The pastor and parishoners of Holy Redeemer had long desired a. church. The first step toward the ful- fillment of this desire took place September 7 when die first shovel of dirt was dug by Reverend John A. Blasko, The new church now nearing completion will give the parish a beautiful and spacious house of worship. Within Holy Redeemer High School changes too have taken place, Changes in personnel are Superior, Sister M. Vincentg Principal, Sister M. Elizabeth Anng and new faculty members, The Reverend Richard Kropf, Sister M. Rosalia, and Sister M. Alberta. The curricula foo shows new courses. Extra-curricular activities have also been introduced to meet the needs of the growing school. Although different hands work and different minds plan, it is in Him and with Him Who is our Unchang- ing Good and Who promised to be with us all days, even to the end of time.
