rs? i V-. Despite added competition from a new participant, St. john's, Holy Names once again emerged victorious on volleyball playday. Not only was the playing rough, but the spirit and sportsmanship displayed by all the schools, Bishop O,Dowd, Marin, Notre Dame, and Saint John's was won- derful. During lunch, representatives from each school entertained everyone with acts showing talent and humor. Good weather also played its part to make the day truly a fun-filled playday and one to long remember.

Sodalists prepare to make their temporary Act of Consecration on the feast of their patron, Our Lady of Guadalupe. The spirited Sophomores congratulate their sis- ter class upon their victory in the Christmas Card Drive. The Advent season at Holy Names began with the weekly vigils at the advent wreaths, located in each hall. At the beginning of the season, an Advent Program was held, which helped to make each student aware of the value and importance of the time. During the first week of Advent, the Sodalists made their Act of Consecration to the Blessed Mother, pledging to be fervent in their duties. At the end of the season, the annual Christmas 46 Program was held, including a variety of tableaux depict- ing Christls birth, and the daily renewal man has of His suffering and death -the Mass. After the blessing of the tree by Sister Superior. Santa arrived to wish the Student Body a Merry Christmas. The spirit of love and good will was culminated by the distribution of baskets to less fortunate families.
