Blood, sweat and smiles. These are just a few of the aspects a Holy Names athlete experiences in her competative life. It takes the work and sweat of everyone participating to bring about success, and all to well she knows the price she must pay to achieve it. She realizes that in order for any team to succeed they have to work together. Teamwork is definitely one of the most important traits a winning team possesses. Teamwork alone does not guarantee victory however, sportsmanship also is essential. I-low many times has the phrase, It's not whether you win or lose, it's how you play the game! been repeated? It isn't just winning that is important. There is the desire for competition and love of working with others that reaps reward for all the effort. Each individual channels all her energy and spirit into putting forth her best efforts. When she feels she has given all she can, she knows she is a winner-- despite what the scoreboard might read. The sports program at H. N.A. offers a wide choice of sports: basketball, volleyball, soccer, tennis, and track. The vitality and spirit the athlete expresses will enable her to defeat any opponent--whether it be on the court or on the field.
