Sister Marie Emmanuel. S.C.. NAME and Namer advisor, for whom this page was planned as a surprise, by her Galley Slaves of '53. AND SOMEONE BEHIND THE SCENES Teacher, counselor, and friend-all these titles We attribute to Holy Names Sister Marie Emmanuel. Words are seemingly inadequate to tell her how much gra- titude We feel toward her. Sister is a teacher oi lournalism and English. This year in addition to all her labors in the Staff Room she has her own homeroom. One would think that these activities would more than suffice, but Sister also teaches two little girls their catechism several times a week. Sister has been with Holy Name for i6 years. Those ot us that had the pleasure of Working with her remember many things about Sister: We recall her encourag- ing us in all our Works. . . pointing out sensibly and kindly our rather dubious brainstorms . . . forgiving us tor our silly mistakes . . . gently telling us our la- test masterpiece was Hslightly corny . . . giving us two types ot food-for after school sessions in the Staff Room and for thought . . . helping us keep Christian principles in mind . . . giving us the right kind of humor . . . and at all times proving that she's one of l-loly Name's best liked teachers . . .
