A PLACE FOR STUDY AND ENJOYMENT Enlarged this year so that it extends the entire length of the sec- ond tloor, Scullen Library is a real student's dream-come-true. Beautiful tiled tloors, new lights, freshly-painted walls, murals and good pictures, stacks ot clippings and pamphlets, all extend an invitation to quiet study or to reading just for pleasure. English teachers agree that if students would only read again, they would Write better, spell better, speak better, and think better. Sister Thomas Aquinas, librarian, does her best to promote such desirable ends. Eighty-two books are taken out each day, Sister reports, and there are innumerable calls for reference books, and for other materials needed for class preparation. Sunlit and spacious, renovated Scullen Library is now open for business. The picture below shows a portion the reference stacks and the charging desk.
