May this project be as successful as in years past. I am looking forward to its publication with no small amount of interest. We are indeed happy that the first group who began their course of studies in the high school department will have suc- cessfully reached their goal by June, 1961. Please extend our congratulations to all of these fine young meng our prayers as well as our hopes will accom- pany them all when they enter their Novitiate year. By God's grace it will be a happy, memorable, and successful year for them. The short months of their Novitiate will enable them to learn more in- timately the spirit of the Holy Family, as well as familiarize themselves with the high ideals and standards which necessarily must become a part of their sublime calling. Let the soon to be graduates, teachers, and all members of the American Province pray that a great number will follow in the foot- steps of our first high school graduation class. May God bless all of you. Sincerely yours in . M. J. ' 0' ho?,' ery e . Joseph Pell , M.S' F. I L JU From a large total of seventeen beginning in the freshman year, the juniors now have six. They have had many projects which they have worked on. The jtmiors made frames for some pictures on American History. Also, the third year men held a raffle that netted a con- siderable sum for the treasury, which stands at about 325. In their midst is a postulant for the brotherhood, John Conlon. Next fall, he hopes to enter the novitiate to fulfill the calling of God. May God's grace go with him. The juniors were well ahead in basketball against the other classes. They are looking forward to their senior year and graduation. The officers of the class are: James McNamee, Presidentg James Esque, Vice-presidentg and Leon Fri- gillana, Secretary. Sponsored by: Rev. FRANCIS J. KELLY, Pastor Our Lady of Guadalupe, St. Louis 21, Missouri In May, when this class graduates, four of the sen- iors will have something to remember. They will have been the first to start in the high school department, and complete the necessary courses to graduate. These four are: Weldon Tieken, AlMoe11enhoff, Douglas Kruse, and Peter Hines. The three others are Jim Dryer, John Meneley, and Ruben Falcon. They came in after the first year. But all these have one thing in. common-next year they enter the novitiate. May God be with them through the years to come. The class officers are : Weldon Tieken, Presidentg Al Moellenhoff, Vice- president, and Jim Dryer, Secretary- Treasurer. ICR 27 SOPHCDMORE This year's class is down to ten, having losta few during the summer. They were noticeably U101' 9 mature and were set to have a good year. At the start of school, the sophomores set a goal before themselves- to be more attentive in class, and to be courteous and kind to the faculty and fellow students. To their treasury they added near 310. which will provide for class activity later in the school year. The class officers are: John Dannegger, Presidentg James Wasser, Vice-presidentg and James Schneider, Secretary-Treasurer. FRESHMEN 1 28 The freshmen this year numbered seventeen at the beginning of school. Six of these found out that the priesthood was not their vocation and they dropped out. The rest have done a few things worthy of note: First of all, under the advisorship of Father Lienert, they started a type collection of United States coinage. They collected many coins and planned to put them in the library for pub- lic viewing. Next they had a raffle and the prize was two silver dollars. Then someone came up with the idea of a white elephant sale. The freshmen gathered up their old playthings, including stampbooks, etc. So far the fresh- men have collected 312. in the treasury. After this year the freshmen will have three more years of study at I-l.F.S., which will aid them in their goal- the priesthood. The officers of the class are: John Ferrara, Presi- dem: James Boyer, Vice- president, and John Malloy, Secretary. sponsored by PARKER'S GARAGE, HA 8-1411 10530 Lackland Rd., Overland 14, Missouri follf ' hand great learn in The Famil Our c oll eg e department is small with only four members.
