The past four years become precious, each year holding its own special memories. Now, looking back, we get a lump in our throats. IN '53 AS we mounted the steps of Holy Family, we were greeted by the new principal, Sister Mar- garet Loyola. Initiation started us off right, each one trying successfully to gather up as much H.F. spirit as possible. Our first Homecoming, with it's blazing fire, reminded everyone of the active spirit of Holy Family. The Homecoming also marked our first dance, which stunned us with its excitement and confus- ion. OTHER GREAT MOMENTS of those ftm-packed, sometimes serious, days were the Lamp Post and Vista drives, retreat, pep rallies, and all other H.F. activities. These little, but important, things helped open the door to our next three years of work, play, and most of all, happiness. SOPHOMORE YEAR CAME along, and with it came new thrills. We were now higher than someone else, the Freshmen, We were surprised when we began to realize that almost half of our high school days had already flown by. AS WE STUDIED and co-operated in all activities, our school spirit increased. We attended all foot- ball games, prayed for victory, and best of all, cheered our boys on to the title of City Champs. That was a great moment for everyone, and truly a great display of the soaring l-l.F. spirit. MORE AT EASE at the dances, we now looked forward to having the Small Fry Prom. We also met such things as the Sweethearts' Ball, Music Festival, and Pep Club-D -Club dance with great enthusiasm. Another unforgettable event was the Student Prince. BEFORE WE HAD time to catch our breaths, we found ourselves Juniors. The joy of being upper class- man made it a great year. Again we climbed the stairs of H.F., but this time with more confidence. As the time for Homecoming approached, we felt proud to have a junior as an attendant. Being upperclass- men, we felt it our duty to help out in everything. Our attendance at the Ski and Skate trips was truly a reflection of our school spirit. The retreat came, and with all the graces necessary to make it worth- while. The retreat reminded us that we would soon be taking our place as leaders of the school. HIGH -LIGHTING THE Junior year was our gift to the Seniors, the Prom. Held at the Lakewood Coun- try Club, this star-studded night was a great success. AT LAST, WE were Seniors. Everything that had been routine now held a special significance. Things that had been funny were now precious to us. Picnics, studies, football, basketball, and baseball games, and all other activities now went together to form a platform of memories for us to stand on in later years. The Homecoming made us sad, yet joyful, for, with the grace of God, we knew that next year we would be coming back as alumni. AS PROM TIME approached, we knew that we were near the end of our four wonderful years at Holy Family. The prom queen, always looked upon with respect by the underclassmen, was now elected from our class. Seeing one of our own classmates as queen, added to the great enjoyment of the evening. NOW, AS WE are about to walk down the aisle to receive our diplomas, we can almost see the new life that is about to unfold before us. With tears in our eyes, we look into the future with some fear: but with the realization that the coming years will only be a reflection of our past fotu years. These four years, filled with love of God and neighbor, leave a brilliant impression. 30 .fl'K: f.,ar Ben Moore, treas., looks over the shoulder of pres.
