Into a Family We Have Grown . . My friends have made my fin- ger sore turning my ring. This happy complaint reflects a Ring Day tradition juniors treasure. Celebrated on December 7, I977, the day began with morning Mass carefully planned by the Ring Day committee. Special guests at the ceremonies were the juniors' par- ents and the seniors. Msgr. Lirette distributed the rings, assisted by Sister Ann Eileen. The initial joys of ring ownership were shared among friends during off-campus lunch at Shaker Mountain Inn, Scoreboard, or Ernie's. Then seniors honored the juniors at an afternoon reception, singing In My Life and presenting each girl with a white carnation as a symbol of love. During this ceremony and after- wards, many fingers turned the new rings as a valued gesture of friend- ship. EVENTS ll
