,..,.,, My Dear Blessed Mother, I've never before talked to you through the medium of the pen. I thought I would have to in order to accomplish sharing an adventure with you, so I am writing a special kind of letter. You remember the big decision I had to make when I graduated from grammer school fyou remember, because I remember bothering you for weeksj? Which high school would I attend? Well, I want to thank you, Mother, for help- ing me, with about sixty other girls who had the same decision to make, I entered the threshold of our loved Holy Family High. I Entering a new school filled with new faces is usually a difficult, task, but not at Holy Family, where friends are quickly made. With the cheerful assistance of Sister Mary Celestine and Sister Mary Eleanor Marie, a new and exciting episode began. Shortly after we embarked upon our high school career, what should befall us to our dismay but the period that is known as Initiation Week! Though filled with fun and hilarity for our Senior Sisters , it was for us one week of fear and uneasiness. For in that week we are given laborious tasks, such as scrubbing the basketball courts with worn out toothbrushes, wearing silly clothes and hairdos, or reciting our epitaph as punishment for being poor, lowly frosh. We chose joan Schulte as Best Big Sister. After having been initiated, we diligently plunged into our studies. How proud, we felt when we found that we could use the libraries in the high school. Another quite new and different experience is the study period, which we find most useful for during its forty five minutes, we get in all our homework. We do have lots of it since there is Religiong Algebra, with all its complicated equations, Latin I or Spanish I, Qwhat translations lj, Ancient History, trying to remember dates and important characters, and English, diagramming and telling the principal parts of a sentence. The old saying, You never know how much you don't know, until you find how much you do know , can be well applied to us. Upon being received into you Sodality, Virgin Mother, we plunged soul-on into our rst retreat. It was truly an inspiring period. Didn't you think we were perfect angels? Toward the close of the school year, the freshman honored the Seniors with a Tea. This brought a lot of tears, for their graduation would mean that we would say goodbye to the wonderful girls whom we proudly called Senior Sisters . We realize that someday we will be walking in their footsteps down the same aisle. ,.,.., ,,,. -.:.:.-.:f-,va-:rss .,.. I A.,,,,,,,.,.,,.,- ,. s, ,-M, ,E ,W ,:.,,...:,.,. .,. .. ,. WM, ., , . .
