POPE PIUS XII 3111 illllrmnriam During the past year God has called home His loyal and saintly servant of the Church, our beloved Pope Pius XII. His reign which spanned a period of ninteen eventful and turbulent years, saw the papacy drawn closer to the people of the world. Keeping abreast of the modern times he has moderated the laws of fasting to coincide with the life of the modern laborer. With the advent of a powerful communistic state he fought diligently against all variations of atheistic communism. These encyclicals and many more on labor have had a great effect on the world in particular our own United States. Pius XII lived a life of pure saintliness yet never lost contact with the millions of people who fondly remember him. SANDRA LECLAIR
