JOSEPH MURPHY MARGARET O'GRADY, R.N. Music School Nurse E HERE present to you with pride the hand which holds our symbolic Torch For Tolerance, the faculty, comprising sixteen Sisters of St. Joseph and six lay teachers. To us, laboring in the light of Catholic Education, A Torch For Tolerance, they appear as the hand which holds this lamp aloft, and steadies it, so that it may burn more brilliantly over us. We see the five fingers, firmly implanted around the cone of the torch, stationed as securely as the Catholic principles imparted to us. We see the index finger, pointing the path to a better Catholic life, the middle finger, symbolizing strength, the strongmindedness infused into the students, the ring finger, wearing the ring of Christ: unity, the little finger, regarded as an extra digit, therefore, characterizes the extra- curricular activities of H. F. A. as sponsored, encouraged and nurtured by the faculty. And lastly, balancing these four, we see the thumb--a bul- wark of prayer insuring the strength of our teachers. lt is then, with deep pride that we bow before these holy nuns and lay teachers. May the torch burn brightly in this hand. it NUNZIO PINTAURO JAMES SANTORA, B.S. AGNES SOULE Orchestra Physical Education Dramatics 'he
