Then comes the great day in the life of the candidate for the priesthood when he receives his first maior order, which is the subdiaconate. The other two major orders are the diaconate Und finally the priesthood itself. Thus, in due time the candidates, having been properly tried Gnd educated thoroughly and their constancy observed, are invited to the fullest participation in 'he Offering of the Holy Sacrifice, of the role of the priest himself.
