'U mlm, fs: 1 F -jg . . .f . Q' wi, 0 This residence, at 1105 King St. in La Crosse, was one of the build- ings used as temporary quarters tor the Seminary's first four years. Then, on November 2 with the offering ot a Solemn High Mass by Bishop .Treacy in the Cathedral, the drive actually got under way. lt's story can best be told with the headlines which Gppeared in three successive editions of the LA CROSSE REGISTER: Seminary Campaign at Mid- Pominf Seminary Drive Appears to be Successful , and finally, HSEMINARY DRIVE SMASHES GOAL! And that was the story - the people of the Diocese of La Crosse not only met, but l d'd ' dication of their solid and deep-rooted Catholicity. 0PPed the million-dollar goal in a sp en i in The Elmwood area, under Father Louis Paquette, was the first to report in a whole area over the Top of its quota. . 35
