The scene which you witness .here is the result of uncountable numbers of prayers and acts of sacrifice. on the part of priests, religious and people. The work which will be accomplished in this seminary is that which is closest to the Heart of Christ. Over the main door of the seminary, you will read, The hope of the harvest lies in the planting . In this seminary the T seeds of the Divine Priesthood will be 'planted firmly in the genera- tions of boys not yet' born into the world. Here the heart of the priest will be fashioned after the Heart of the Divine Priest, while his mind and all the other faculties of his soul are enriched with the teachings of Christ's holy Church. i 1 As your Eishop,'I am unable to find language adequate to express my gratitude to Almighty God for permitting me to sponsor this noble work for the extension of His Kingdom in this corner of His Vineyard. lt is extremely difficult to select any group for recog- nition. To the Reverend Pastors of our Diocese, however, I must express very special gratitude because it was they who sponsored the drive for funds for the seminary and received from their faithful people singular financial cooperation-which made this beautiful building possible. To the school children of the Diocese of La Crosse, who thfoflgh their Lenten self-denial offerings contributed the heroic and original statue of Christ the King on the facade of the Chapel and completely furnished the chapel in the S' t ' especial thanks must come from their lifsigs Convent' a Word of ,p- y.
