University ol' Notre Dame PRINCIPAL Brother ,lohn Donoghue has been Principal at Holy Cross for all the schools four year history. In our minds, however, he seemed to be more than that title expresses. Brother John had a vast amount ot work to accomplish in the direction of Holy Cross, but most times when we passed the main corridor, we saw him smilingly checking up on the situation. At the end of the school day we again saw him observing the students filing out ol' the school building. Not many ot us counted the times he came into our classrooms for IQ Tests, for re- placement of a teacher, even for teaching us Algebra. Brother john always had the welfare of the students and of the school uppermost in his mind. Many times we heard him speak to us not only on our accomplishments, but also on our failings. Always, however, he spoke with a firm con- lidence in the students, and his concern for their welfare came out in his voice.
