TICKETS During all of our lives we are bound to come in contact with some sort of a ticket It may be one of those days when everything is going wrong and then to top it off we get a good sound bawlmg out and finally the traffic cop in h1s blue unifoim and brass buttons politely hands us a ticket which says in large black ty pe the exact date and time we are to appear in court Even though some tickets may be a ha7ard to us others are verv cheerful For example let us try to imagine the ioy and happiness on a small child s flce when it has Just ieceived a ticket to the annual circus that has Just come to town He knows th it the small square piece of card board he holds will enable him to see the funnv dressed clowns the mon keys and dogs in their pointed hats and gue with im wement at the fat lady the thin man and the 'zciobats who fly high tbove his little head And as everybody knows a circus would not be a cu cus unless we had our fill of candv pop corn and other goodies Thus a ticket to a small child not only means '1 piece of paper but also the thrill of a summer s day filled with many happv hours Tickets are of various s17es and shapes so as not to be monotonous Practically every other time we answer the door bell it IS either a t1nV grade school pupil with 1 gaily colored ticket to a kindergarten plav to be giyen at his school land of course he mikes sure to tell you he s in 1tJ society woman who has been trying for weeks to get mother to buy a t1cket to their annual Society Dav The high school crowd too has its plav and takes its turn at selling tickets which are of medium size and usually a plain solid color or their tickets may be for a water pageant football game or just a patriotic dance the proceeds of which are to be given to the Amerlcan Legion These t1ck ets are of rare design some with a diving girl of Whlte on a midnight blue background or a boy running with a ball for a fifty yard touchdown with a queer colored uniform of a Jade and scarlet combination The dance tickets vary according to the time of the year such as those for a Thanks giving Ball which might be brown and gold or for the mid winter formal which may be red and green or white and silver The dictionary defines a ticket as a card of admisslon to a place The place is what most of us ale concerned about NVe surely wouldn t buy a railroad ticket when we are planning on going to the theatre There ure also some places where we never have to have a ticket For instance we go to school ey ery day and never hand our teacher a ticket upon entering the door nor do we visit our friend s homes only after depositing our monev or ticket at the front doorstep There is also a place I would like to go but for admission a ticket lb not required instead a lifetime of good woiks and deeds Probably if we could purchase a ticket toi this particulfu place many more of us would louiney there However the Creator of this kingdom h is said that only those who keep His word will entei there and be happy with Him for all eternity Iois Von H iecke E de NI 46 .
