,digg 'FVEYA The girls in Junior Achievement are actually operating their own businesses. junior Achievement is a nation- wide program established by business, educational, and civic leaders who wish to train young people for future jobs in the business world. Groups of young people, be- tween the ages of 15 and 19, are taught to manage and work for a business enterprise. Thus, teenagers gain experience in record keeping, producing and selling goods or services, paying and receiving wages, and using cap- ital. In short, junior Achievement is an extra-curricular, learn-by-doing activity that teaches young people to be better citizens. The girls in junior Achievement have set up their own companies, and each has created an article to sell. junior Achievement is an organization beneficial not only to the country and the people, but also to the girl herself. Sewing Ln our modern and expensive world, every good house- keeper benefits greatly as she is able to sew for herself and for her family. Under the supervision of Sister Rita, the girls in Sewing are learning this economic art. In addition to making clothes, which they will model at the annual Sewing Style Show, the girls have worked on pajama bags, place mats, and on stuffed animals.
