The Hoi ton High School Concert and Marching Band con- sisting of members, provide music for school events (foot- ball, basketball, and pep assemblies). Acting as President is Carol Pickard, Vice-President Rick Cramblet, Secretary, Treasurer Cathy Wait. The purpose of being in the band is to give a feeling of friendly competitive responsibility and to provide musical skills and leadership for all its members. Dore-mi-ia-So Sweetly Sings the Choir This vear the choir was indeed singing sweetly at the win- ter and spring concerts. Among the many delightful ditties dexterously delivered were: Selection from Godspell, Jolly Old St. Nickolas, Dav by Day, Prepare ye the way of the Lord. The choir members, at times directed by Mr. Hemp- hill their own Eric Von Trapp, were thrilled with some of the assorted modern songs they sang. Some noteworthy ex- amples are: The Hippopotamus Song, Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Old Oak Tree, Black and White, and the all time favorite, the most modern song-song, the lively lyric of the living, that fabulous, fantastic freakout: Talk to The Animals. 1st Row: D. PEP BAND PEPS UP PEPPY PEOPLE PERFECTLY Trombonese Liberation Army Strikes A Blow For Musical Freedom Some People People do anything to attract attention. Normal Band Members? The pep band is a group organized to provide musical spirit for school athletic events and pep assemblies. The pep band deserves alot of credit for all the good they have done for the school. The musical expertease which this group maintains, often bewilders the abashed opposing team and brings the school spirit to its peak. Who can pos- sibly forget the thundering fight song, the inspiring school song or the famous beat-em, beat-em, beat-em of the stu- pendous ant song.
