Freedom of Assembly 1 - llFREEDOM or AssEMBLY! What does it mean, and how does it affect our everyday life at Holton-Arms? Each time we congregate on the stairway, or in the lounge, we are making use of it. When we gather on the hockey field or in the gym to practice dodges and pivots, when we meet with other schools to thrill spectators with those exciting hockey and basketball games, when we flock to see those greatest shows on earth presented by Miss Happer's mod- ern dancing class, when we skate together, bowl together, or ride together, Holton-Arms is assembling freely. A glance or two onward will yield you the explanation for all those bruises and black eyes sported by our sturdy athletes, and for the grace and precision displayed by our skaters and modern dancers. Read on to learn of the aims and aspirations of The Holton Athletic Association, which is the cause of it all. 68

and all the old favorites were rehearsed. This year's program in the library was enriched by three new voices. Maryalice Brattain, Dinny O'Rear, and Peggy Rogers all sang solos, while the rest of the club hummed in the background, and the faculty and boarders joined in the chorus. As we were already familiar with the harmonious O'Reillys and the clear soprano of President jean Hurd, we were not surprised, but were certainly en- chanted, when they rendered their contribu- tions. After supper we adjourned to the little theater, where the servants had gathered to give us a never-to-be-forgotten song-fest. As the last strains of Silent Night died away we all felt filled to the brim with the Christmas spirit. As we go to press, work on this year's operetta, Miss Jones, is just get- ting under way. Judging from the other pro- grams offered by the Glee Club this year, we know that we shall not be disappointed in this last treat. Bmftaiu, Hurd, 0'Rmr-miter 6'Xffl101 ll7i77lIf7'?J'.
