She is known and envied for her fraternity pin and that daily special from a certain devoted admirer. Ann is interested in riding -the Western Way,-traveling, and maintaining her B rank Cquite an accomplishment for a first year girl D. Her heart is certainly in Texas, and, despite talk of Vassar, vve predict that she will complete her education in the old home state. MARY READING JOHNSTON College Preparatory Courre BEHOLD THE HONOURED president of our class, who has been legally re- elected four times! Need we say more? If so, we might explain that Maryjohnston is immensely popular. You may see her enveloped in the coveted hockey blazer, for she is also our star athlete. When a male role needs to be filled in the Dramatic Club, they call on Mary, and she brings down the house. -?---SEN R HARRIET JEAN HURD General Count: IT is Nnws to us that Jean's first name is really Harriet, but not news that her ambition is to be an exclusive de- signer like Hattie Carnegie as well as a singer like Grace Moore. Her great talent in both fields of art cer- tainly assures her success. With her lovely voice, it is only natural that Jean should be president of the Glee Club this year. In the fall she plans to attend Flora Stone Mather College in her beloved Ohio. FLORENCE FULLER HYDE College Prepamtaqy Couric FLCRENCE is a sort of half-and-half girl. We saw her first at the end of last year Cshe was at Holton study- ing for College Boardsl, and so when she appeared this year to join the senior class, we classed her as a fifty per cent new girl. She immediately set up the lares and penates in YIS, and her next move was to become its captain. Next year linguistic ambi- tions will carry her to one of the col- leges now being tentatively regarded.

1-Z-SEN R PAULINE NAWAHINE KING College Preparatory Course IN cAsE you didn't know, Pauline's other name is Nawahine, which is Hawaiian for the lady. Her father is the delegate from Hawaii, and Pauline has made the trip from Honolulu to San Francisco seven times. Always smiling, Nawahine has brought the happy outlook of her native land to Holton and has made a host of friends in America. Next year she is going to Sarah Lawrence and after college she may return to Hawaii to live-if a certain American doesn't change her plans. MARJORIE LEWIS junior College Courre MARJORIE is-well, different. Her dark red hair turns under in a long page-boy, and she often defies tradi- tion by wearing scarlet or burgundy. When music is in the air, you'll find Marjorie on her toes, her pirouettes reveal a soul full of rhythm. In that Texas twang she told us that she's headed for Duke, ifI can get in. We don't share her apprehensions, for Marjorie has proved that she can do almost anything once she makes up her mind. ' 2
