bracco, explains the mysteries of geometry and sociology to befuddled students. Commander-in-chief of the army of ath- letes is Miss Feiker, with Miss Bonner as lirst-sergeant. Miss l-lapper inspires us in modern dancing to do the impossible, be- sides being I-lolton's secretary and Propa- ganda Department. The artists are guided by Miss DeLane and Mrs. Banes in SCRIBE and class work. Mrs. Meade trains our interior decorators and costume designers. Mrs. Rice handles the Dramatic Club, while Miss Feiker and Miss Iohnson draw melodv from the Glee Club. Mrs. Frost and Mrs. Kaspar are the Secre- taries of Music. Ask the new music apprecia- tion class about Bach or Beethoven, they can tell you all, thanks to Mrs. Frost. The typing department is ruled by Mrs. Townsend, Miss Bunch teaches spelling, and Miss Summerlin persuades cakes to rise for frustrated cooks-to-be. Miss Fran has become a Holton tradition as director of the Lower School. Her ad- mirers are not confined to the sub-sub-debs. Queen of the Primary is Mrs. Macfarlane, assisted by Miss Myers, Miss Lemoine, Mrs. Morrison, and Miss Rogers. The boarders are kept well fed by Mrs. Amstutz, as well as out of trouble by Mrs. Smith, Miss Solter, Miss Bunch, Miss McClel- lan, Misstlohnson, and Miss Bonner. Saully, the Red Cross personified, takes care of our ills and helps the Defense effort with the stamps she wins at Russian Bank. -SEN ALICE BAGBY College Preparatory Courre AT LAST WE HAVE FOUND someone who has that much-celebrated dry sense of humor. With a Miami sun- tan, a contagious laugh, and a head crammed full of brains and origi- nality, Alice keeps '15 alive and spirited. She can have her serious moments, too. As president of the Scroll, advertising manager of THE SCRIBE, and holder of high honor rank, she proves this. In addition to preparing for Smith, Alice finds time to keep slim with modern dancing and to strum a meloclious guitar. MARYALICE BRATTAIN College Preparatory Course AIRPLANES AND MARYALICE just seem to go together, for her father is Vice- President of Eastern Air Lines, and her major interest is flying. Singing is her specialty and that sweet, strong voice makes a mighty fine backbone for the Glee Club. This talent is combined with a brain which has earned her honor rank and a science award.
