Pushing themselves for the last mile, reaching for the last ounce of strength, the I9S4-S5 Boys ' Cross Country runners proved themselves a winning team. Ending with a 7-3 record, the season was highlighted by a win against long-time rival East Lansing. The team gave its best in three invitationals and placed fourth in the CAC Senior Jim Parker who ran at the State Meet said, I run because I love the sport and what it does for me . . . running is a divine sport because it puts person against person in which you either win or you lose and the responsibility is all on the individual. Coach Jerry Gillett was very pleased with the season. The bulk of our team will be back next year and should be even more competitive than this year, he said.
