Custodial Staff Holston High is lucky to have a trio of very de¬ pendable men who keep our school and grounds looking their best. Mr. Hackler, Mr. Cox, and Mr. Hackney not only clean, and maintain our building consist¬ ing of halls, offices, restrooms, cafeteria, gym and twenty-odd classrooms, but also give our campus an appearance we can all take pride in. Because of the dedication and conscientiousness of these men, our school continues to keep her youth despite ten years of the constant flow of human traffic. Clyde Cox, Jr. Bernard Hackney E. Cafeteria Staff Rachel Baughman Gay Blevins Nancy Gentry Holston's cafeteria staff is known throughout the country for the delicious meals they prepare. Not only do they prepare nourishing meals for almost six hundred students five days a week, but members of the staff often help pre¬ pare and serve food at special events, such as the Mother-Daughter Banquet and the Athletic Banquet. In addition to the full-time cafeteria staff of sev¬ en, there are two substitute workers — Mary Frances Garrett and Pearl Hender¬ son. These ladies work hard and deserve a lot of credit. Mrs. Mary Taylor, cafeteria manager, is retiring this year after serving in Washington County schools for almost thirty years. We thank her for her years of service and wish her the best! Bus Drivers This big yellow monster is seldom still and seldom empty. Holston has eleven buses and eleven bus drivers this year. Out of these eleven, four of them drive specifically for Holston. The other drivers drive for the elementary schools, as well as for Holston. Chester Jones and Ernest Trivett also have runs to and from the technical school. Our four drivers drive quite a few miles in a single day: 1) Chester Jones drives 93. 3 miles a day and this includes a run to the technical school, to Liberty Hall two times, and then to Holston. 2) Ernest Trivett drives 69. 4 miles a day. He goes through Konnarock, down to the elementary school, over to the bowling alley, and then to Holston. He also drives to the technical school. 3) Raymond Ritchie has a run of 48. 1 miles per day. Mr. Ritchie leaves from Holston and goes to Columbus- McKinnon and back to the elementary school. He then goes to Bethel and, finally, to Holston. 4) Mildred Widener drives 44. 7 miles per day. She goes to Liberty Hall twice every morning. We thank our bus drivers for their hard work!
