German Club A common interest in the study of the German culture and heritage in Texas binds these club members together. During the year 1974-75 members of the German Club attended the New Braun fcls Wurst Fest. The club sponsored a successful “Ger- man Sweet Shoppe” for Yukon Days. Their annual banquet was held in New Braunfels, one of the oldest German cen- ters in Texas. The goal of the Spanish Club is to promote a greater appreciation of Spanish culture here and abroad. The club pursued many fund raising pro- jects during the school year, such as the sale of baked goods, placcmats and serving chalupas at Yukon Days. Contests in poetry recitation and a year-end banquet at Karam’s Restau- rant rounded out the club’s activities. 1. Spanish Club officers: Denise Rice, vice-president: Karen Diaz, president: Fat Shattuck. secretary-treasurer: Mr. Jack Terrell, sponsor. 2. The club members participated at Yukon Days with the chalupa sale. 3. Karen Diaz. 1974-75 club president, passes the leadership to Karen Massey during the club’s banquet. 4. Members enjoy a traditional Mexican dinner at Karam’s. 5. . . . And Mr. Terrell is stuck with the check.
