Failure to execute on defense was the story of the entire ball game and playing badly throughout the game ended a good year on a sour note. Jay Falls 29-21 Holmes shrugged off a 14 point half-time deficit, scoring 23 points in the final two periods to defeat the Jay Mustangs 29-21. After the Huskies claimed a 7-0 lead in the first period on an eight yard touchdown run by Willie McAfee, the Mustangs retaliated with 21 points in the second period. The Huskies came roaring back after the half time break for three touchdowns with Mike Gant and Neil Camp as the key figures in one of the Huskies greatest comebacks in Holmes’ history.
