The Action Is! “Thespians” was named after the first Greek actor, Thespis. The drama honor society at Holmes was organized in 1966. It is an educational organiza- tion whose aims arc to establish and advance the standards of excellence in all phases of theater arts. Mrs. Janecn Patterson is the sponsor. Thespians participated in all school productions and in U1L speech and drama contests. They also produced a children’s Christmas play for elemen- tary students in this area, “The Tough And Tender Troll.” Participation also included the se- nior class play, “Annie, Get Your Gun.” Cathy Cardenas, in the lead role of Annie, won the International Award Of Excellence as an outstanding ac- tress. One must earn a total of ten points to be eligible to join The Thespians. One point is equal to ten hours of excellent work. Thespian officers are Bill Dunckcr, president; Barbara Kooy- man, vice-president, and Kathy Balog, secretary-treasurer. 5 6 107
