A huge Christmas tree centered the gymg other decorations carried out the Yuletide theme. Games, contests, and dancing were enjoyed by the Seniors and their guests. High-light- ing the evening was the election of Miss Doris Cotton, as Miss H. C. H. S.

THE P.-T A MINSTREL Lazy Moon Minstrel , directed by Miss Alma Tucker and sponsored by the P T A proved to be one of the year's most successful extra-curricula activities Both students and townspeople par licipated in the casting. THE OPERETTA To Make Men Freenfpresented by the elementary grades was one of the highlights of our fall program, The Operetta, patriotic in theme starred talented members of he fourth fifth and sixth grades. Proceeds from this presentation went to the elementary library fund THE HALLOWE'EN CARNIVAL The '43 l-lallowe'en Carnival was a huge suc- cess from every angle. From seven until nine, the gym was a mod scene of penny pitching, apple bobbing, cake walking, bingo-ing, fortune telling, and weight guessing. At nine the crowd assembled in the auditorium for two one-act plays- Pistol Packing Mama, and A Train Going South -and a concert of string music. The high light of the evening was the Coronation of Wilhelmina Wilcox as carnival queen.
