THE P.-T A MINSTREL Lazy Moon Minstrel , directed by Miss Alma Tucker and sponsored by the P T A proved to be one of the year's most successful extra-curricula activities Both students and townspeople par licipated in the casting. THE OPERETTA To Make Men Freenfpresented by the elementary grades was one of the highlights of our fall program, The Operetta, patriotic in theme starred talented members of he fourth fifth and sixth grades. Proceeds from this presentation went to the elementary library fund THE HALLOWE'EN CARNIVAL The '43 l-lallowe'en Carnival was a huge suc- cess from every angle. From seven until nine, the gym was a mod scene of penny pitching, apple bobbing, cake walking, bingo-ing, fortune telling, and weight guessing. At nine the crowd assembled in the auditorium for two one-act plays- Pistol Packing Mama, and A Train Going South -and a concert of string music. The high light of the evening was the Coronation of Wilhelmina Wilcox as carnival queen.

THE BLUE DEVIL BUGLE Volume XL 25 cents per semester A. A. F. BAND The Army Air Corp's Military Band, Marianna, Fla., gave a most enjoyab-le concert in the audi- torium Friday, September IGth. The Band was conducted by Warrant Officer Driggers. The concert was opened with a few bars from the Air Corp's theme song, after which the band broke into a spirited march. In the middle of the program, Captain Bates of the Air Corp gave an interesting talk appealing to I7 year-old boys by telling them the opportuni- ties and advantages of being a part of the Army Air Corp Reserve. MADAM X Madame X wonders how it feels to be proposed to by telephone. Just ask Shorty Dykesl June Terry seems to be learning the ways of night life with the new blond. Kate Jernigan and James Childs seem to be hitting things off a little better lately even though there has been some keen competition on both sides. We wonder if Louise Pate still likes fire towers tl Or is it birthday suppers now? Come on, Pate, give- SWlNG AND SWAY Hut, hep, hut, hoeswing a little, gals, and lets go, And so the Phy. Ed. classes march along to the drone of Miss Tucker's music. Have you noticed those girls hobbling up and down the steps land Miss Tucker tool 'f Well, that's partly due to jammed muscles. SENIOR CLASS SCHOOL PARTY On Dec. I7th, from 8 til' I2 o'clock, the H. C. H. S. gym is going to be the setting for one of the gayest, most enjoyable fun fests in the history of this institution. Games will hold sway from 8 til' IO, dancing from IO til' IZ. The gym will truly be a scene of Yuletide Revelry. The auc- tioning of cakes, box suppers, and cases of coca- colas will add food to the fun and frolicing, but the highlight of the evening will be the election of Miss Holmes County High School-the ideal girl whose countenance, along with her competitors, will grace the feature section of the '44 HO-CO-HI Memorial. THE BLUE DEVILS VICTORIOUS The Crestview Tigers took defeat as part of the day's work when they opposed the Bonifay Blue Devils Friday night, Having set the pace for a victorious year, the fast and hard-hitting Devils took the Tigers by surprise in the first cjuarter, when Bird Dog made the first touchdown amid the shouts and cheers of the enthusiastic and teeming crowds. THE CHEER LEADERS TRIUMPH Rah Rah, Rah, Rah, Rahl Yell the Bonifay cheerleaders-and we're off to a victorious year. That's truly the spirit of our newly elected cheer leaderseMargaret Browning, Eloise Buie, fvlary Williams, and Frances Williams. Already these girls are hard at work, It takes hours and hours of drill, strenuous exercises, and OH, those sore aching muscles. But it takes something more than physical exertion, and these girls have it- a deep interest and pride in their school.
