CLASS WILL AND TESTAMENT We, the class of i944 of the Holmes County High School, County of Holmes and State of Florida, being in our right mind and sound body and realizing that we must part with sundry honors, talents, looks, and emotions do bequeath and bequit, leave, give, and get rid of the following in this our last will and testament. We hereby bequeath to Mr. Lewis, our principal, our affection and respect for his careful guid- ance, enduring patience and rare good fellowship. To the faculty we leave fond memories of our brilliant class and condolences over the loss they are about to experience. ' To our school we will our splendid records in scholarship, dramotics, music, athletics and citizen- ship. T To our successors, the Juniors, we leave Miss Ayers and our privileges and dignity as Seniors. We solemnly bequeath to the naive, unsuspecting sophomores a deeper sense of duty and more serious view on life, which we trust will aid them in becoming lordly Seniors, come l946. A dish of gratitude we will to the lunchroom for all of the tasty meals prepared for us during the three or four or five years that we have been here. The individual Seniors, each having valuable possessions, do hereby bequeath them as followsi l. John weeks leave his place on the gridiron to Tommie Miller. 2. Charlane Dykes wills her bedimpled cheeks to Marie Leavins who is indimpled herself. 3. Elwyn Davis leaves her studiousness to, and heart with, Archie Sims. 4. G. W. Barefoot wills his sense of humor and glib tongue to Edward Wood. 5. Juanita Williams leaves her perfect figure to Lonnie Brown who, we figure, has done all right by herself. 6. Anna Mae Russell bequeaths her gentleness to Betty Maude Peters. 7. Levi Smith refuses to leave his slowness to Thomas Fulford, who, confidentially, doesn't need Il. i 8. Velma Chesnut leaves her golden blonde beauty to Frances Mathews' dusky glamour. 9, Bessie Thomason and Mary Melson bequeath their cuteness to Edna Reece Brock who can handle both their shares. IG. Morris Sheffield gladly wills his quietness to Richard McKinna. ll. Juanita Majors Parker leaves her course of true love lwhich never runs smoothl to Kate Jernigan. l2.
